The Nail Polish Issue

Ever wonder why your nail polish smells like rubbing alcohol? Or that it has something in common with preserving dead bodies? Nail Polish is something that most people have on their bodies every single day. Why, in 2017 should we have to ask for a product that does not include ingredients like formaldehyde, which is included in the embalming process of preserving dead bodies.

The new "trend", which actually needs to just become the norm asap, is 3-free, 5-free, 7-free and water based nail polish. 3-free nail polish does not include the 3 most harmful chemicals: Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), formaldehyde and toluene. All of which are linked to cancer and other nasty problems you don't want close to your body.

5-free nail polishes remove Formaldehyde Resin or Camphor which are drivers of yellowing and brittle nails. To take it a step further, 7 free remove all of those disgusting ingredients and also omit Ethyl Tosylamide and Andxylene. Now, chemically speaking, I have no idea what these are but I know I don't want them on my body.

If you really want to "hippy out" you can just opt for water-base nail polish :)

Below are some great companies that give you all the fun, flirty and sexy color choices you could possibly ask for while maintaining a sense of ingredient dignity. Prices ranging from $7 for kid safe nail polish to $28 a bottle if you're feeling fancy

PIGGY PAINT! I just love the name. It sounds so fun. It's perfect for your daughters first nail paint season with or without you ;). Their foundation and motto is that it's "Natural as Mud". Click the  images above for some of their cutest colors.

Apart from being only $9 a bottle RGB is a pretty dope brand. Five-Free, Cruelty-free, Vegan and Made in the USA, they've got some pretty awesome colors in their repertoire. Check them out here.

Cote Nail Polish brand was created by two women on a quest to remove toxins from nail polish. I mean hello! Thanks. They are constantly looking for ways to improve their products and they have an endless list of classic, fresh colors. At around $18 it's worth it. Above are a few of their best sellers! Perfect for Spring.

I would buy every single one of Smith & Cult nail polishes based off the bottle packaging alone. I mean these are gorgeous and they scream luxury. Not to mention that every color has a sense of seductiveness that you can't help but gravitate towards. Coming in at $18 their 8-free formula is a win.

Theres not really much else to say besides, It's Chanel! All of their newly-renovated Le Vernis long lasting nail color are 5-free so go ahead and indulge.
