Weekly Top Five

I have been on a kick to find the best healing oils for my skin to help with dryness, redness and to heal previous scaring left by acne. Beyond topical products I realize the importance of inner health to produce results on the outside also. Being a vegetarian, the need for a balanced diet, making sure I get all my essential amino acids along with complete protein is vital. Creating a morning routine that includes breath work and sticking to an evening routine that includes a series of asanas.

  1. The Ultimate Moisture - Not only have I switched from store bought face wash to the "Oil Clensing Method" (I will post my recipe soon) but I have opted for a three step face cleansing method. This includes the final step being a moisturizing serum called Squalane Oil. This oil is great because it is super light and able to deeply penetrate the skin to give you a massive amount of moisture.
  2. Essential Amino Acids - Coconut sap and aminos have all 9 essential amino acids and 5 out of 7 of the conditionally essential amino acids so its a great additive to your stir fry, veggies or rice! I Love using Bragg - Organic Coconut Liquid Aminos
  3. Complete Protein - I recently ran out of my current stock of bee pollen and can't wait to receive the one pound bag I just ordered from the Pollen Co. The benefits of Bee Pollen are astronomical. It has every thing the body needs to perform at its best. Its a great additive to your morning bowl of oatmeal!
  4. Morning Breathwork - I have been reading the book Light on Pranayama (<-click for kindle version) by the Yoga Master B. K. S. Iyengar. It is very in-depth and sheds a great light on the spiritual and physical benefits of conscious breathing. I am constantly researching breathwork, this is our life force.
  5. Evening Asana - Ashtanga Yoga is a type of Yoga that focuses on a sequence of poses done in the same order every time. It uses combination of the Asana, Breathing and Drishti. I have been practicing yoga for over 7 years now but it is only recently that I have decided to study Ashtanga. By practicing every evening I am developing more discipline, focus and flexibility.
